Google Street View Services

"... over 40% of local searches involve clicks on the Google Map."

Research has proven that customers who see inside a business are more likely to trust it. More importantly, they are more likely to visit. This is notably important for medical establishments or health and beauty providers. However, all businesses are going to be under more scrutiny by potential customers in these tight economic times when first impressions count. Are you missing out on 1,000's of potential customers because your brick & mortar business is not on Google Street View (GSV)?

Get in touch with Julian to explain the options and processes for getting your business onto GSV. Even if you already are in GSV, your business changes over time and so should your images. Plus, recent improvements in 360º photo quality mean it’s time to update and entice viewers to visit.

Pricing ranges from $350 to $600, depending on the size of your building. There are no hidden extras and no annual subscription. This makes it the single most cost-effective marketing expense that your business will face. Your mini-tour will stay on GSV indefinitely or until you ask for it to be taken down

Shickluna Bikes: Case History

Shickaluna Bikes now bring potential local customers from a Google Map search, right “into” their store. Local shoppers are no longer just passing a storefront that has been passed hundreds of times; it reminds them of what they have seen inside; an Aladdin’s Cave of cycling treasures!

This is a portion of a 360º picture which is in Shickluna Bikes GSV mini-tour.

Shickluna Bikes already had a presence on GSV but it was out of date and used a small number of low-quality images. So firstly, we helped them remove the old 360º pictures from the map and their Google Business Page photo section.

Then, we swiftly scanned the store with the high-quality Matterport camera to create a tour that captured the range of products they offer, as well as the ambience of the store. Please click on the picture of the Dollhouse below to see what a Matterport tour is.

Clients can choose to keep the Matterport digital twin as it can be edited further to display a whole raft of interactive content. This can include videos and pictures, external websites and PDFs of brochures, menus, pricelists, etc. All of which is not possible on GSV. The Matterport tour is web-based so it is easily shared on social media or embedded within a website (as is done below.) There is a yearly hosting charge ($150/year) for a Matterport tour. But this is only if you decide to keep it for the greater marketing options that it opens up; we can get you on Google Street View without keeping the Matterport stage in the process.

Next, the Matterport tour was edited further to direct customers to important areas within the store, and then uploaded to GSV as a mini tour of linked 360º photographs. Google call the 360º photographs ‘photo spheres’. All of the photo spheres are also automatically uploaded to the Shickluna Bike’s Google Business Page photo section on upload. This gives Shickluna Bikes more online exposure and not just inside GSV. At this stage, if the Matterport digital twin is no longer needed it will be deleted.

Another powerful marketing aspect of being on Google Street View is how the mini-tour can be embedded into your website as in the example below. Click and drag it to explore the GSV tour of Shickluna Bikes while inside our webpage. This shows another way to entice customers to visit, even when they are not actually on the GSV map! So many businesses just have an ordinary map on their Contact Us page. The option below is far more dynamic and still has the “View on Google Maps” should they want to see a map.

The image below shows how Shickaluna Bikes looks on Google Maps, with the Street View (the Yellow Man) layer active.

The lefthand side shows a wider view with the Google Business red pin and business name. This is often confused with being on GSV when it is not. The small blue circles are Shikaluna Bikes presence on GSV.

The righthand side is zoomed in on Shickaluna Bikes revealing all of the accurately placed photo spheres. Hovering on a blue dot in GSV will show a thumbnail preview of the 360º view seen at that place. To see this, click anywhere on the map below to visit Google Maps, then click on the Yellow GSV Man icon to load the Street View layer.

Shickluna Bikes chose a number of the 360º photo spheres from the GSV tour which will be used in future posts on Facebook to boost their social media marketing.
